How to: Gaon Chart

I am briefly writing about Gaon Chart and how to navigate it.
The Gaon Music Chart tabulates the relative weekly popularity of songs or albums in South Korea. It is compiled by the Korea Music Content Industry Association and sponsored by South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with an aim to create a national chart for South Korea similar to the Billboard charts of the United States and the Oricon charts of Japan. It started tracking sales since the beginning of 2010(Source. Wikipedia and Koreatimes)
Gaon Chart is pretty straightforward and  easy to navigate. There are 4 chart which matters(for idol groups at least).

  1.  Digital Chart
  2. Download Chart
  3. Streaming Chart
  4. Album Chart
Along with these 4 charts, there are weekly, monthly and yearly charts. Gaon releases Weekly Chart every Thursday which consist of compilation of previous Week(Monday-Sunday) and Monthly Chart after the end of the month.
Some facts:
1. Song of the Month(Gaon Chart Kpop Award) is given to #1 of Monthly Gaon Digital Chart. Link
2. Song of the Month is not even to Song released through TV shows(Like SMTM, Infinite Challenge) or OSTs.
3. Album chart amount is revealed only at the monthly compilation. It is because Gaon Album Chart counts shipment which may be re-adjusted in later compilation.
How to Navigate

In Music Chart Section, you can see the drop-down menu which has Digital, Downloads, Streaming and Album chart. You can click in any of the chart which will lead you to latest weekly chart.

As mentioned earlier, there are weekly, monthly, yearly chart you can check and the right corner you will get a dropdown menu which has comprehensive collection of weekly, monthly and yearly with dates.
Also one important fact, if you cannot find a song you are looking for in "combination" chart, you should click at "Domestic" chart as Combination chart is compiled with domestic and international chart together.
